Essentially, they manage the land and collect taxes so they can drill for oil and gas. Like a foreman at a construction site, they build roads, build housing (man-camps) where workers live, and oversee the assembly of drilling machinery and the drilling of wells, especially in remote locations. CBS News Sunday Morning: Episode #44.24 (2022) mentions Landman is another hit in their long line for Taylor Sheridan.
It stars the incredible Billy Bob Thornton, Jon Hamm, Ali Larter, Demi Moore, etc
Everything you want in a good series is here, it has drama, action, twists, even a little humor, etc. It is clearly beautifully written because it is everything Sheridan does, but it also has an amazing cast. Billy Bob Thornton was born to play this role, and he is fantastic here.
Hamm is the same
I would be shocked if he wasn’t nominated for an Emmy for his performance here. In addition to being beautifully written and acted, it is beautifully filmed. Sheridan has many great shows to his name and Landman is among the best of them.
